You can purchase an Internet Router or Home Hub in build/buy mode, or call Customer Service to have a Technician dispatched at a time convenient for you to install one for free.

You can also request a Wall-Mounted Router from your technician. Ask then for the wall mount, then drag it from your inventory to your desired location. Instruct your technician to install on the mount and voila!

Sims with Level 3 Programming skill will be able to perform a Self-Installation without needing a Technician dispatched.

If you live in University Housing or staying in a Rental without access to Build/Buy, you can Order Simzlink Install Kit from the Mailbox to get connected. These two venues will always be set in Commercial Mode, so just turn your router on and you’ll automatically be connected without an Installation.

By default Simzlink is in Hard Mode, meaning every lot will require Simzlink Internet Service. The Simzlink Internet Lot Challenge will provide Free Public WiFi and opt-out of Internet requirements on the current lot. You can change your play mode to Easy Mode from the Settings category on your Router or Mailbox. When in Easy Mode, only lots with the Lot Challenge will require Internet Service.
